We have been with The Point at Tech Center for 2 1/2 years now and have loved every bit of it! Maintenance is always a phone call away and Alex is quick to fix any issues. Jen and John have always been so much help to us. The dog park is a great plus too! I couldn’t recommend these apartments enough!

The Point at Tech Center has so far been a great place to live. Despite moving in during a remodel and change of management, management does go out of their way to make sure that any issues or concerns are taken seriously. Improvements are being made all the time, more sidewalks, more lighting. It's a quiet community with lots of space to walk around, walk dogs, inside or out of the dog park. It is located near any amenity you could possibly need by foot or by car and right on the bus line besides. The neighbors are friendly. I spend a lot of time outside and there's never any real drama or disturbances. I have in fact found all of my neighbors so far to be kind and pleasant.
I had so much stress about applying here and moving and getting used to the space and it has been fantastic. No mess, no stress, no hoops to jump through. Folks at the front office are kind and responsive. Maintenance crew is made up of great, kind people. And finally, there is a notable effort to use the community neighborhood app and bulletin to bring people together in fun ways, like ugly sweater contests during the holidays. I was very discerning about where I was going to move and I couldn't be more satisfied with my choice.
As an aside I want to note that as far as negative reviews go, many of them are complaining about either renovations or features that the old management crew are responsible for. The company that owns the building contracts out for this sort of construction and the front office has no ability to control the speed at which renovations are done. It has been noisy occasionally but quick and efficient despite that. What are they supposed to do? They're renovating buildings, it's gonna be slightly inconvenient for a very small period of time. I had my sliding door and windows replaced, insulation added and the building exterior remodeled while I lived here and it was done quickly and carefully and I have no real complaints with the process. As far as issues with things that the previous management team is responsible for, well, the good news is they're working on it just as hard as they can! So rest assured the place only gets better.

I have never dealt with a better complex. Their office/management team is phenomenal. I am relocating to Virginia from Florida due to a promotion at work, and was on a very short timeline. I stumbled across this complex, and everyone was amazing, but John specifically really made my experience amazing. Everything was remote, and he stayed in constant contact, answered all the questions I had, and helped me through the entire process in a matter of days. I can’t wait to call this place home! Thank you Tech center team.

The office staff (as of Sept 2024) is kind, fast to reply, relatable and hardworking. The maintenance staff always wave to residents when they see them, hop on issues with the apartment, are friendly to any pets you may have. The only downside is SOMETIMES the parking can get a little tight but extra spots are never far away.
Everyday during the summer they keep a lifeguard at the pool, just in case you ever want to go swimming.
The Pickleball court and grill area is always open.
Staff ensure and remind residents to let their pets go potty in appropriate places so you're not walking in doodoo.
If you walk or drive by any of the staff they always wave back or smile.
The Tech Center shopping area is right across the street, literally within walking distance.
The apartments are also surrounded by lovely trees so when the seasons change you get all the beautiful foliage.
This place feels like home and the staff feel like close friends. The apartments are beautiful, maintained and in a safe area.

I lived at the Point for a year when I first moved to Newport News. They were really accommodating when I first moved in and worked with me to meet all my needs and special requests. I loved living here, the community was wonderful and the leasing office staff were always available and understanding. Maintenance is quick and often went above and beyond. I really enjoyed living here and would recommend it to anyone!

I lived here for 2 years, and only moved out because I bought a house. The apartment was great, I loved the balcony, and the pool was great and had longer hours than other complexes. The staff was super nice (although there was a lot of turnover) and helped me deal with locking my keys in the apartment more than once!
I’ve lived here for 2 years with a roommate. We decided to end our lease and venture out on our own. I’ve looked at many apartments in the area but nothing competes with this place. I’ll be staying here for a 3rd year 🫶🏻
