From the time of touring apartments until leaving, it has been a peaceful amazing experience. We have looked at almost all places in Port Clinton, Sandusky, Huron, and Fremont. We lived in a one bedroom apartment, and It has been the best experience. Everything looks modern, basically zero maintenance requests, and quiet walls. Our neighbors had kids and families, and still we heard nothing. Our windows are huge, and situated so natural light is always flowing in. Everything is clean and the hallways always smell nice. Feick’s location is optimum, as it sits just a 5 minute walk from the lake, and 1 minute walk from Sandusky marketplace including coffee, ice cream, and tacos. Ceilings are also high, so if you are tall you won’t feel it at all. The cabinets I believe have some sort of magnet thing, so that when you close the cabinet, it slows down, so that you never “slam” a cabinet. Besides the apartment, all gratitude and praise should be given to Shonda. I have never met a more responsible and kind landlord. From the beginning, I felt like she had my wife’s and I interest in mind. I believe we looked at least at 6 different apartment plans. She kept taking notes of what we were saying, and gave us recommendations based on how we felt. She took the time to get to know us, and I felt very secure with her. One of the fears, is that one may think they are getting ripped off or that the landlord is hiding something. I never felt like this with Shonda. While living there, Shonda was always available through email, text, phone call, or in person. Whenever there was an issue, which were very minor and few, she quickly resolved them. Some negatives. We cook a lot, so air flow is an issue, because the kitchen is far from the window. If you do not address this, the fire alarm is very sensitive and at least every 2 months, it would go off. It’s nothing big, but if you are sleeping and the fire alarm goes off at 7am, it can get annoying. within 20 minutes, they turn it off. There is not enough lighting in my opinion. There’s only a ceiling one in our kitchen. This is only an issue at night, because in the morning there is more than enough natural sunlight. There is very little air fan sound in the bathroom. According to maintenance, all the bathrooms are like that. This is just my personal preference, I like the air fan sound to be close to drowning out noise. It’s just weird if you can hear what someone is doing in the bathroom. This is just my opinion though, maybe others are okay with that. Amenities are not shared with other lofts. For example falcon point lofts, has a gym. Since the big three are under the same management, personally I would assume that we would be allowed to use their amenities. At least there should be an option that we can pay for the gym or something. Finally parking. This was a big issue for us. We did not buy resident parking when we started. So that was a mistake on our part. It feels like cops just want to do it when when they feel like it. Sandusky has something called bike week. And we did not see that the street parking was going to be closed, so our car got towed. I’m not sure if the police had the right time written because I saw the timing was crossed out , but whatever. Saying that Sandusky has these events, cars get towed, so be careful would have helped. We received an email about this for “summer events” , but it was much after bike week. I am sure if you lived in Port Clinton, or any nearby city you are used to these things, but if you are new to the area be conscious of the signs, and if you don’t get resident parking, just park in the lots. I would not even risk parking on the street. This place is an amazing place to live. Besides, Feick they have Columbus and Falcon. Either of them would be great choices. If you are reading this, you may be thinking about signing a new lease with Feick....let me start with this...do it.....sign the lease....you will not regret it at all, not for one second! I have lived in 13 states, 27 cities, countless apartment buildings and leasing companies....and i can say, via this post, (the most genuine posting i have ever given) that this building is amazing; it is a thriving, multicultural, community, within the local downtown community ,that offers the kind of safety ,security, and convenience that is so affordable that it is possible to have a life here, amd just live here. We as renters know, that any rental experience is not only about the actual building and or the actual neighbors that make or break a rental community, we all know that it is the everyday operations of the leasing team, management team and maintenance team that truly are the heart and soul of a property. And the heartbeat of this property is strong, honest, and completely focused on the wellbeing of their tenants and not just about the money. If you have chance to stop in and meet Ora Williams, or Rashonda Knight, please do yourself that favor and stop in to meet them and take a tour at the very least. These two women are 2 of the kindest women i have ever met in this business, and Ora's kindness, and generosity with her time and my wellbeing , is the exact reason i choose to live here. Best decision i have made as far as renting and signing a lease.
