The Upper Room apartment, is located on the third level of an old 1869 church and is a one bedroom unit. It features 14ft vaulted ceilings throughout. The unique bedroom has a loft area for storage which also leads to the mechanical room. The apartment is located to the back of the church and features a sliding patio door leading out to a large balcony with a beautiful view over Carleton Place. The main open area houses a modern kitchen with granite countertops. A beautiful red brick wall graces one side of the main living space. The bathroom is a unique european "wet room" which contains both a shower and a bathtub along with a granite topped vanity unit. The church is located just off the main street in Carleton place and is within walking distance of restaurants, cafe's, the post office, waterfront pubs, the library and is one block away from the Trans-Canada recreational trail. This unit is heated/cooled using a cold climate heat pump which operates down to -26 degrees celcius. Studies show that these heat pumps are the most efficient method for heating in Ontario (cheaper than natural gas).
