Hi! I have lived at Cedar Flats for about 3 years now and I have really enjoyed my time here while it lasted. This is actually one of the first "College-Living" apartments in Chico. It was my home for a very long time, but now it is time to say good-bye... *I am from the area (Oroville) and I have a local perspective growing up in Butte County. I recently got a job offer in Sacramento, regardless of the 2020, this is a new and exciting journey.* ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The cost of living in Chico has grown over the years and being independent can be the toughest thing when you are on your own. As long as I have been living here, I have been able to grow as a person and focus on school and my career for long-term success. This place is really geared towards the success of college students AND working professionals. You don't need the best of credit but as long as you provide documents of income to meet their criteria, you're golden. My starting rate when I started living here has been $699 including wifi and everything else as advertised. Cedar Flats is renting by the bedroom and shared living space. Living with roommates can come and go.The water and electric bill is always split amongst the roommates and the bill is always on the portal or sent to you through email. The lowest I have had was $30, by myself, and the highest was about reaching $100 with roommates in the winter time. They do a pretty good job with roommate matching, being honest about yourself is key, and the front staff for being small do their best to cater to their residents! It is a small community apartment, and before covid-2020, i miss the coffee in the front office, it definitely helped me get out of my shell and talk to the front staff the times I went there. Also free printing is something to always take advantage of! Never had the need to buy a copy machine especially when all I do is work and go to school. The neighbors in the complex are pretty laid back, again, pre-covid 2020, they have a spa area with a nice grill to use best in the summertime. (Good times for sure) Also the appliances are up-to-date! Jon always takes his time to make sure whatever it is that is needing attention is fixed right the first time. If not, just make sure to resubmit so that way the company itself can cover the cost (as long as you are submitting requests in the first place, you are good, keep in mind it is a company complex and there's only so much the front office can do) . The only negative review I have is probably seeing the staff overworked that is something though that is out of my control but regardless, it is always nice to see the front staff providing the best they can. Currently it is Pamela, Madison, and Kylee, they all are sweet and mindful people. Brittany (the current and best Community Director) have been providing information (in regards to COVID) to help their current residents have a roof over their heads. That in itself is family values from a company. And as a current/former foster youth, that has really helped be reassured that I am going to be okay at the end of the day.
