To be honest, this particular complex was exceptionally clean and family oriented. Quiet and massive. Tons of parking. The inside of my friends apartment was so huge and clean. I was quite shocked. All in all I would give these apartments a ten. 😳.

Been here almost a year. This property is under new management and is improving all the time. I live in a remodeled apartment which has new appliances, wood laminate floors, and energy efficient windows. Floor plan is 1000 sq ft and has dual master bedrooms. Can't beat the price! - especially since the extra charge for the upgraded apartment evens out with the lower pg&e bill. Located near downtown, Sam Lynn ballpark, FoodMaxx, Fast Food joints, Gas Stations, 7-11, laundromat, Banks, Freeway 99 and Post Office (not to mention public transportation). The area isn't the best, however the area isn't the worst either (we haven't had any problems). The safety culture in these apartments is changing for the better under new management. There are activities about every other month, and the management is great. Managers are accessible, maintenance requests are prompt, and there is a security patrol at night. There is a playground for the kids, ample covered and uncovered parking, and the parking lot was recently repaved. Management is open to apartments installing security systems, including cameras. The pest control and gardeners are polite, and do a good job (except for the trees). You can conveniently pay your rent or submit a service request via the online portal. Now for some of the things which I'm positive that management will be improving on in the future: Lighting at night is very dark, specifically at the playgrounds and the mailboxes. There are not enough laundry services for everyone in the apartments. You will need to put money on a prepaid card during office hours in order to use the laundry, so plan ahead. The laundry machines are not the best (we use the laundromat down the street - less convenient, but they work better and are probably cheaper). The mailboxes are located right next to a main dumpster area - dirty, smelly, and at night - Dark. The trees are not maintained well - they are not groomed nor cut properly (I am an experienced tree feller). When the sprinklers come on or when it rains there will be pools of standing water along the pathways throughout the complex. Currently, there is one 4-plex in the complex which has not yet been repaired from a fire. There are a lot of non operational cars sitting on flat tires in the parking lot. The surrounding area is economically depressed (but that is outside of the apartment's control) Overall, Bakersfield has taken a little getting used to since we moved here - but we have thrived since we have lived here. I love my neighbors, and like I said - we have had no real problems since we have been here. There are pros and cons but I recommend these apartments to anyone.
