Originally known as the Brousseau Building, this landmark was designed by Hudson architect Michael O’Connor, whose notable works include the Allen Street School, the original Firemen’s Home, Midwood, and several distinguished residences near the courthouse. Constructed as an apartment house with six units—two on each floor—it reflected O’Connor’s thoughtful approach to residential design. The building has since been completely renovated and reimagined for modern use. Today it offers a vibrant mixed-use setting, with ground-floor commercial spaces that connect directly to Hudson’s bustling downtown, and just one expansive two-bedroom apartment per floor above—combining exclusivity, comfort, and historic charm. Two separate entrances define the layout: one pair of doors serves the street-level commercial spaces, while the other pair provides access to the staircases leading to the upper-level residences.
