Living at the Galvan was amazing. We renewed our 15-month lease since it was so awesome. We did end up leaving during our second lease term due to COVID-19 and getting out of the lease was reasonable and they were super helpful and kind about it. We have no complaints. The staff is super helpful and friendly with Manny & Dawn being the most amazing concierges ever; Dawn was even promoted to a managerial position while we were there. The maintenance staff is always prompt and courteous and the cleaning crew is nice, too. There have been a few fire alarms that have been disruptive but I'm willing to deal with them in the name of safety.
The location is literally across the street from the Twinbrook Metro so that's super convenient with commuting into the city. With that said, you can hear the train but it's not bothersome. We lived on the third floor so there were upstairs neighbors and you can hear some heavy footsteps, but that's apartment living and, again, it's not bad. There's lots of lighting and nice views with big windows.
We're now living in Florida but if we ever moved back to the Twinbrook/Rockville area, we'd definitely consider the Galvan again.

I want to thank Lilian and the entire team for their support and dedication to make sure that we live in an outstanding community. Most especially Lillian, who is the Assistant Manager at this property she is very polite, professional and always ready to help the residents with their request. She always go above and beyond to make sure that the tenants needs are met. Thank you for all you do!

The Galvan is a great place to live! Close to everything. The staff is very helpful. Chanae always greets us with a smile and is always eager to help us if we need it. Timothy is great too! Maintenance team is top notch (Emilio, I'm talking about you and your team!)
“The leasing office at this property is incredibly welcoming and accommodating. When I walked in for a tour, I was greeted with a warm smile from the assistant property manager, Lillian. She immediately made me feel at home and kindly assisted me as a walk-in. Within just a few minutes, she provided a clear overview of their floor plans, availability, and pricing before introducing me to the leasing agent for the tour.
The tour itself was seamless—every amenity and feature was thoughtfully highlighted. I was shocked to learn that the building is nine years old because it’s so well-maintained; it easily stands out compared to some newer apartments I’ve visited. The hallways were spotless and smelled fresh. I can’t wait to apply as soon as my current lease is up!”

As a relocation coordinator, I do many apartment tours in both the Rockville and Baltimore areas. This review is based on my experiences touring with Galvan, once last year and again in March 2024.
I'm giving Galvan 5 stars because their rental rates are highly competitive for what it offers--a new building in an outstanding location with an exceptional leasing team. Gabriella, who assisted me both last year and this year, consistently demonstrates professionalism and hospitality. I appreciate her promptness in providing information and her thoroughness in consulting with her manager when needed.
Location:
I affectionately refer to this area (Galvan and Escher) as "the secret in Rockville." It feels safe (the crime map history over the past 12 months aligns with my observations) and the quieter side of the street is conducive to walking.
The convenience is unparalleled, with Safeway and the Metro station just a minute away on foot, and Trader Joe’s, Giant, Target, and Whole Foods Market a short 4-6 minute ride. If you don’t have children, you may find that occasional Uber rides suffice, eliminating the need for owning a car.
People:
Not only is the leasing team outstanding, but the maintenance and cleaning staff are also remarkably courteous. I was impressed by their attention to detail, such as pressing the elevator button for me and pausing the vacuum cleaner as I passed by.
Additionally, tenants I encountered during tours or visits to the office were consistently friendly.
Common Area:
Galvan has a beautiful lounge, game room, and numerous spaces where tenants and their guests can socialize. While the pool is on the smaller side, the courtyard is lovely and proves useful during warmer seasons.
Unit:
Galvan is a new building, and all units have a sense of freshness and cleanliness. Regardless of which unit you may choose, the finishes and newness are consistent, mirroring what you see in the model room.
One unique feature of Galvan is that each room comes equipped with a dining table (please see the photo).
While the windows may be smaller compared to some other apartments, resulting in less natural light on cloudy or rainy days, the upside is better insulation, which likely helps maintain cooler temperatures during the hotter months.
Cost/Rent:
The rental rates at Galvan fall within the bargain end of the spectrum, I think. I've seen much older apartments of similar size offer comparable or slightly higher rents.
While rental rates fluctuate based on factors such as move-in timing and market demand, Galvan consistently offers reasonable rents, especially considering all pros they offer.
They also offer a group internet deal for just $55 per month, without the need for installation. In comparison, I received a quote from Verizon for another apartment, with the most reasonable plan priced at $99 per month, and installation fee itself was $99. This is another benefit potential tenants should consider when deciding where to live.

I've been at the Galvan for about 6 years and can say that my experience has been nothing short of amazing. The building is clean, security is great, concierge services is amazing, the amenity spaces are phenomenal, and it's surrounded by tons of restaurants and shopping centers. To top it off, the building is across the street from the Twinbrook Metro Station. Lastly, the staff at The Galvan (Tim, Stephanie, Gabi, and Claire) always go above and beyond for their tenants.
I've lived at the Galvan for almost three years and have mostly enjoyed my time here. There have been issues with the fire alarm that are mostly rooted in the Galvan and the retail stores below all having an interconnected alarm system. That being said, the employees and staff here are fantastic. Chanae' always makes sure myself and my puppy are doing well, and I know for a fact she does that for all the residents. She is one of my dog's favorite people and rushes over to bark hello every time she sees her. They also work hard to host events multiple times a month to give residents a chance to catch up and have a sense of community. I highly recommend considering The Galvan for your next move to the area.
I just want to say how happy we are to have Ms. Chanae at the front desk. She is always helpful and attentive to our needs. It’s like she knows everyone in the building and greets us with a smile. I know if my family needs anything she will handle it promptly! I don’t know what this building would do without her.
