Canal Club Apartments is a very nice place to call home. The Leasing Office staff are friendly and helpful. They are able to answer any questions or concerns that I may have. Canal Club is pet friendly and I am thankful for that as I have 2 dogs! Also, I can't say enough good things about the entire maintenance staff. They are all professional, courteous and do a great job of fixing, repairing, troubleshooting and keeping the grounds looking beautiful. The natural nature setting in spring, summer and fall with the blooming flowers and variety of birds singing makes for a great walk about the rolling hills.

My spouse and I lived here for three years. The staff is responsive, friendly, and non-invasive. The rest was a great deal. I would recommend any of my family to live here if they needed a place to stay. Pet friendly, safe, walkable. We had a two bedroom apartment on the third floor, with a balcony facing a treeline. While it was frusterating to not be allowed a bird feeder, we saw plenty of wildlife and it felt very tucked away from Lansing city life. The complex is quiet and the neighbors and staff were friendly. Sitting on the balcony in the summer evenings were my favorite memories. The space is good for the money: we never felt cramped. The maintence staff were the best I'd every had in an apartment. They do annual, biannual, and at-request maintence with lots of notice, so the apartment is always kept in good condition. When we had troubles with the dishwasher it was fixed and replaced with very little hassle. They had very good COVID precautions as well. They provide paint and repair help, but allow wall painting and picture hanging, which made our space really feel like home. The carpet is the only thing I will complain about: while well-kept and unstained, I didn't like having it right by the front door: it made winter more of a hassle. But the kitchen is linoleum and easy to clean. There is lots of storage too: an extra outdoor closet, a pantry, a coat closet, a linen closet, and we had prebuilt shelves in the individual room closets. We also had laundry in unit, which could be loud while running, but it made laundry very cheap and easy. The pool is good to swim in. There is recycling available to all residents. I felt very safe walking to my nearby workplace: in all seasons there were kids playing in the designated areas and people walking pets. There is a trail to downtown lansing and the mall, and Horrocks (a local grocer) is a 5 minute walk from the complex. The fire station is next door but not loud: same with the highway. I never noticed the noise. The place is regularly plowed and salted early in the winter, and the grounds are kept very tidy. They leave extra grass around the pond for the ducks, which was absolutely wonderful: butterflies and ducklings in the spring made my day. This was the first apartment complex I was ever sad to leave. You get more than what you pay for here.
