Apartments are nice and reasonably priced. Maintenance responds promptly and is very helpful. 5-7 minutes from shopping centers and 10 mins from UNCG. Great place to live!

The Misadventures of Wendover Ridge. A Pickering&co property. Review date 27 July 2024. My goal was to save money. I'm spending what I was before moving here, if not more. I have included photos and videos for those of you who don't feel like reading the review. Just let the images/videos speak for themselves. The video of the stainless steel thing is what the fridge sounds like every day. The medal thing I'm holding is the attachment to the bathroom sink stopper. Some of these things have been fixed. Some have not. 0 fixes happened within the 1st month of living here. But there was plenty of time before moving in. I looked for reviews on the place, but all recent ones were wiped, which is common when management changes. I only saw one, and the company response was petty and unprofessional in nature. So, I'll be the first in-depth review. I saw a few red flags and pointed them out to the manager at the time of walk through, like the weird hidey hole under the bathroom sink. Which was roughly 3 weeks before move-in on 13 May 2024. I was ready to move back out by week 3. There isn't a dedicated leasing office at this location, so you will basically be calling/emailing the wind. Customer service is lacking. Initially, I was ok with a few of the things like the doorknob falling off week 1, the toilet seat lid not being the correct one for the toilet, or the dishwasher flooding when i tested it. Those are minor quick fixes. The issue is that things just keep happening. Week 3 is when the AC went out. Took a week to fix it, and they left a pretty ineffective and dusty window unit in my bedroom. I even had to remind them to come get it after they did fix the AC and to secure the window screen. They still have yet to secure the window screen. That's also when I found out there wasn't a dedicated maintenance person. About a week after the AC issue, the ceiling started leaking brown water, right in front of the fridge of all places. I put in an urgent maintenance request. A week after that, they hired a maintenance guy. One more week went by before he showed up. Meanwhile, I was left to monitor and dump brown bucket water. They didn't even provide the bucket. I had to use my own. 1 month from urgent request is how long it took to be addressed as completed. (upstairs neighbors AC water drain line was cracked and pooling in my ceiling). You will also see random AC window units at different apartments on any given day. My front door was left unlocked 1 friday after they did one of their inspections. It's definitely not a good feeling knowing your home is open to the public. The current issue is that the fridge sounds like a washing machine and is likely responsible for a power bill for 1 person resembling that of a family of 3. We also have a new manager. I assume she was hired when the maintenance man was. I've dropped by the office unannounced twice. Even saw another resident wanting to be seen as well. The door was locked. Maybe she works from home. But yea.. No, "our bad, we're sorry we have you living like this", no "let's move you to another unit/location", no rent deduction, nothing. Just another big company, Pickering&co, buying out properties. Renovating them quickly and poorly upon closer inspection and then slapping overpriced price tags on them. At this point, they can't say we just took over the property. It has been months, if not a year, judging by the only other fairly recent review. That implies they don't know what's going on with the properties they buy and manage. And if they genuinely don't know that the property is this faulty by now. That implies they are negligent and just don't care. Don't move here! In fact, if you are bothered that a whole corporation employs people to allow things like this to go on. Don't move to any property under Pickering&co. A note to Wendover Ridge: There is no need for a generic canned response to this review. This is to inform the people. It's already insulting enough that I'm here.
