Bathroom next door, shared with two others. 300 sq ft at $475 rent plus $75 for utilities. It's a two-room 'suite' in basement with lots of quiet and privacy. Bathroom across the hall shared with one other. INTENTION: Consideration, ease, and some comraderie. A calm, clean, friendly home. There'll be 5ish residents. TIMING: Join soon and you may help us choose the fourth long-term housemate. Move-in preferred in December. NICE: We heat to 68-70 degrees. This home is in a quiet, nice neighborhood between Division and Powell on a beautiful tree-lined street. It's a seven-minute walk to the Mt. Tabor entrance, and three blocks to Powell for catching buses. It's a 1960s ranch-style house. Lovely private back patio, huge back yard, Sequoia tree in the backyard. Organic raised-bed garden. PETS: Please enjoy our two cats, no more pets in the shared spaces. KITCHEN-WISE: Two fridges provide plenty of space. Occasional shared meals, impromptu and otherwise. Health-oriented. Please only rarely cook red meat. Shared meals are vegetarian. Dishes to be washed promptly. LOOKING FOR: clean, honest, financially responsible, communicative, agreement-keepers. Positive, mature persons who are generous and appreciate the weird mystery of life. Playful humor is a plus. Sincere courtesy and kindness appreciated. If you're aspire to something beyond your daily comfort (e.g. students, idealists, healers, creatives, spiritual folk), you'll probably do well here. THE VIBE: We're genuinely happy to see each other and do each other simple favors. Ideally, we'll all enjoy and welcome each other's friends. To respect differing moods, we check in with each other to see if it's a good time to chat. Opportunity to share meditation. NO THANKS: No smoking. Only minimal use of drugs/alcohol. No more furry pets. No parties, except maybe occasional small gatherings, e.g. dinner parties? Full-time couples should rent two rooms, i.e. please no 'live-in' partners. This home is mostly, but not completely, oriented to adults. In shared spaces, we dislike prolonged phone conversations, frequent beeping or buzzing of gadgets, raised voices, non-mellow music. We dislike hearing voices or TVs through bedroom walls. UTILITIES: Included in rent is hispeed WiFi. Old-fashioned, pre-wired for a private landline if desired. TO APPLY and MOVE-IN: Please email and tell us what you're looking for, practically and interpersonally. In order to move-in, we'll want assurance of job/funds, first and last month's rent, with $150 for security deposit / cleaning fee. HOUSEMATES: We both tend to be authentic and kind. John is bold, interesting, lively. He has a background as a yoga teacher, massage therapist, personal coach. Jenna works for a social justice organization, likes to dance and meditate, is outdoorsy.
