Available Mid January! Charming 1937 farmhouse with 3 bedrooms and 3/4 bath for rent in North Bellingham/East Ferndale. Great location close to Bellingham and Ferndale but with a country feel. Approximately 3 miles east of Ferndale and 2.5 miles from the freeway in Meridian school district. The house is 1350 square feet with a full, unfinished basement (not included in the square footage). House has lots of original character including original fir floors on main floor, original doors with glass doorknobs, built-in cabinets for storage, etc. There are 3 different types of heat: heat pump (heat and A/C), newer oil furnace, and a newly installed wood stove. The bathroom was fully remodeled in 2011. There are two bedrooms on the main floor and the livable attic can serve as another bedroom/office space/kids playroom. Large kitchen area with eating space. Kitchen appliances include: dishwasher, glass top stove, and fridge/freezer. 900 square foot basement is dry and great for storage, craft room, man cave, etc. Laundry is located in the basement with a dryer and new 2015 HE washer. Looking east there is an outstanding view of Mt. Baker and surrounding foothills! Great, friendly neighbors in the entire neighborhood. Wonderful 3/4 acre yard and grounds including: large fenced-in yard with privacy hedge, 125' x 30' vegetable/flower garden, orchard with several types of fruit trees, 6 grape vines with 3 different varieties, potting/garden/play shed, very large garage with power (could be a nice workshop), chicken coop, that could house up for up to 30 of your own chickens. The yard is flat and dry with great sandy soil for growing. Renters must enjoy caring for flowerbeds, gardens and other lawn maintenance. Pets: Owner will consider one dog up to 25lbs., with good references from previous rentals with additional pet fee and pet deposit. No cats.
