Utilities Include: -Electricity -Water -Central Heat & AC -Internet Utilities Not included: -Cable: You can use our wifi but we don't have cable TV. You can have it installed, however. The Apartment: -Newly renovated bright basement 1BR/1BA in our detached home with brand new appliances including gas stove, dishwasher, washer/dryer, refrigerator and microwave. -Features recessed lighting on dimmers, spot-lights, built-in shelving and tile floors. Wired for surround sound. -Multiple windows on three sides provide much more light than your typical basement unit. -Additional storage available in the utility room. -Private entrance through the backyard. -The large fenced-in and private backyard is shared with us. Feel free to relax out there and have friends over for the occasional BBQ. Fencing is tall enough for dogs to run around off-leash. -Dogs are OK and encouraged! Cats OK if you are responsible with the litter. -Parking is street parking which is easy in this area. Don't believe I've ever even seen parking enforcement in this area. -Un-furnished. Full disclosures - we want everyone to be happy: - The space is small for a couple. - It is a basement so you will hear both us and the dogs walking around although we are generally asleep by 11pm M-F. And we do love a good dinner party on the weekends. If you have lived in DC English basements as we have for many years prior you will understand. The Location: -3400 block of 24th St NE on the border of the leafy, quirky, and fantastic neighborhoods of Brookland & Woodridge! -Right around the corner from the hot block of Road Island Ave which features Nido, Zeke's Coffee, Kaos Gym, Good Foods Market, and Provost with more to come. -The Brookland metro is about a mile away through a funky safe neighborhood. Easily walked, biked or bussed. -Close to Catholic University, Trinity University, MedStar, and Providence Hospital. -Getting around the city is very easy being so close to South Dakota Ave, Road Island Ave, and Monroe St. The drive to H St NE is 9 minutes. The drive to the 12th St main drag in Brookland is 3 minutes (15 minute walk). The drive to U St is 13 minutes. We've never waited more than 5 minute for an Uber. -Safe location - neighbors all know and look out for one another. No real issues. The property is fully covered with motion lights. Us: -We are a couple in our 30s who have lived all around DC for many years and recently settled on the easy life in Brookland. We enjoy wine, trash-talk and thoroughly spoiling our elkhound and yorkie. Next: -As the backyard is a shared space we would like to hear a little bit about you including if you have a dog.
