Hi! I am looking for a roommate to share my 2-bedroom apartment in High Park/Junction on Quebec Ave. The space is available immediately, but does not need to be rented until March 1st, 2024. It’s a quiet street, very close to great shops and restaurants on Dundas and Bloor West, and a ten-minute walk to High Park. The apartment is newly renovated, has on-site coin operated laundry, window unit AC (it cools the whole place), a big soaker tub, gas range, high ceilings, good natural light, and a shared outdoor space with lounge chairs and a dinning set. The apartment is fully furnished except the room for rent, which is empty. The room can fit one queen bed with room on either side to walk around, or if you get a smaller bed, you can fit a double and a desk and or a dresser if you need additional storage beyond the closet and the shelves. It’s really a gem of an apartment. Rent is $2500, split between the two of us, internet, electric and insurance, are additional. Currently paying $75 a month for internet, $40-60 a month for electric, and $30 a month for insurance. So, all in roughly $1332 a month. Not bad for Toronto. I am a 33-year-old woman and PhD Candidate at the University of Toronto, seeking another woman of similar age (late 20’s to late 30’s). I enjoy cooking, running, gardening, and thrifting, but I also enjoy a night out. I love entertaining friends with dinner parties and wine nights. I am clean and organized. I value my quiet time at home, but ideally, I am looking for roommate who becomes a friend and who wants to share a bit of life together. I have two cats who would also be your roommates, they are extremely cuddly and gentle senior cats but are not looking to make new animal friends at this point in their life. So please, no pets of your own. I vacuum regularly to keep the cat hair down and you won’t be covered in cat hair when you sit down. If this sounds like a good fit for you, please send me a note introducing yourself! I would be interested to know why you are moving, what you do for work, and what your hobbies and interests are, and when your move in date would be (sometime between now and March 1st). Eventually you will need all the standard rental things, i.e., proof on income, bank statements, credit check, and references, but we can save that for any second steps.
