FULLY FURNISHED and INCLUDES WATER! The House of Bamboo is an exquisite one bedroom gem in the heart of downtown- just a 5 minute walk from UNC and the epicenter of Chapel Hill. Tucked in a grove of bamboo, this fully furnished pied-a-terre is well designed and has luxury touches throughout. Recently renovated, with new hardwood floors, walls, sinks and granite counters. Due to Chapel Hill residency laws, the cottage is only suitable for one occupant. Sorry, not pet friendly. The Space: One bedroom, one bath. Well-appointed kitchen, with good size fridge, stove, oven, microwave and dishwasher. Glassware, plates, silverware and cookware are provided. Large pantry cabinet in kitchen. Stacked washer / dryer. Ambient faux fireplace & smart TV. Queen memory foam mattress in the bedroom, queen sofa pullout mattress in living room. A door separates the bedroom from the main room. 3 closets - one full size in the bedroom hall and 2 smaller cupboard types in the bedroom next to the big windows. Screened porch area with outdoor furniture. Nest learning thermometer controls the central air conditioning and heat. An iron, ironing board, vacuum, broom / dustbin and indoor trash / recycling can are available if you’d like. There is limited underside storage available as the crawl space is small. Water utility charges and high speed internet are included in rental rate. The house is heated and cooled via electric, the recent tenant paid about $90 a month. The Property: The property has 2 separate houses, yours is at the rear, #303A. The charming pebbled garden area and patio seating outside your house is yours alone, as one SINGLE parking space. Trash and recycling pickup occurs once a week. Once a year we rake and dispose of the leaves. We will provide leaf bags and a rake if you wish to rake the pebbled area during other times. Things to note: The driveway is very narrow and to reiterate- you have access to just one parking space. Due to the size of the property and Chapel Hill occupancy laws- the cottage can only have ONE occupant. Sorry, no pets. Linens, bed pillows and towels are not provided. Outdoor furniture and plants have changed since the photos, and the house has been repainted to a charming blue. There's an active fire station near the house. You may hear sirens, mainly during the day. When I lived in the house for a few weeks, I found that an air purifier was sufficient to block any outside noises during the night. Due to the downtown location we recommend renters insurance and please be aware that the standard NC Realtors lease we use will specify that you have renters insurance.
