Beautiful, historic downtown Traverse City home available for rent at 211 S. Oak Street. Located just about a block and a half from Front Street, this home offers excellent walkability to downtown restaurants, shops, coffee spots, beaches, parks, and the waterfront. This charming 1931 home offers approximately 1,715 square feet with 3 bedrooms plus a dedicated office, or the office can be used as a 4th bedroom if needed. With 2 full bathrooms and flexible living space, the home is a great fit for a family, professionals, roommates, or a group of friends looking to enjoy downtown Traverse City living. Inside, the home blends historic character with practical updates. Features include hardwood floors, original trim, solid wood doors, a warm living room, formal dining area, updated kitchen, two full bathrooms, and a partially finished basement with additional living, laundry, and storage space. The home can be rented mostly furnished if desired, or the furniture can be removed before move-in for renters who prefer an unfurnished space. The kitchen includes newer appliances, with the stove/oven, dishwasher, and refrigerator all just a little over a year old. All appliances stay, including the washer and dryer, which are approximately two years old. The basement also includes two additional refrigerators and a deep freezer, offering excellent extra food and beverage storage. The home has been well maintained, with relatively recent mechanical updates. The furnace is approximately seven years old, and the central air unit and water heater are about three years old. First-floor plumbing and drains have also been updated within the last year and a half. The backyard offers a comfortable outdoor space with wood-chip landscaping, making it easy to maintain and enjoyable for relaxing, pets, or outdoor dining. Monthly rent is $3,500 and includes electric, gas, water/sewer, trash, and high-speed fiber internet. Security deposit is $1,000. Preferred move-in date is September 1, although a mid-August move-in may be possible if needed. A 12-month lease is preferred, and a longer lease may be considered. Two parking spaces are included: one driveway space in front of the single-stall usable garage and one alley parking space. The garage is usable and also includes a mower for tenant use. This is a pet-friendly home with no pet deposit required. Up to two pets are allowed, although this may be negotiable depending on the situation. Tenant is responsible for lawn care and driveway snow removal. The front lawn is small, and the backyard is wood-chip landscaped, so there is very little mowing required. The city handles snow removal for the public sidewalk in front of the house, while the tenant is responsible for the driveway and parking areas. Renter’s insurance is required and must be purchased and maintained by the renter. No smoking inside the home. Smoking outside in the yard is permitted. All applicants will complete a standard screening process. This is an owner-managed rental, offering direct communication with the landlord.
