The Blue Hills Brick Colonial - Welcome to The Blue Hills Brick Colonial located near the Windsor line in north Bloomfield. This is a great location with quiet neighbors and a large lot. The location is very convenient with I-91, Voya headquarters, and other large companies in the nearby business district of Windsor/Bloomfield only minutes away. Food stores, shopping and the popular Lox Stock Bagels are down the street. This 1930 brick colonial is built like a tank with some period architectural features that are not often seen in today’s houses. This is a true brick house (not a veneer) that really sets the feel and character as you pull up. There is a convenient circle driveway in the front with a large parking area in the back. This all allows for easy maneuvering for coming and going. Walking in through the arched front door into the large living room you get a feel for how spacious the rooms in this house are. The living room is going to be a great surprise as it almost spans the entire width of the house. It’s a huge room and an easy room to setup with any size furniture/tv and is clearly the heart/gathering spot of this house. Thea arched doorways are repeated throughout the first floor, as there is one right off the living room that leads into a perfect office/reading room/play room. The dining room is also above average size and these two rooms open to each other in a “L-layout”. This is great for entertaining and all being together. One of the best parts of the house is the new bath and shower fixture. Both bathrooms have newer vanities, lights, toilets. All the lights throughout the house has been replaced with brushed nickel flush mounts. A bonus surprise is the walk -in closet right off the master bedroom. You normally don’t see large closets in this age of a home. All three bedrooms upstairs are at least average size if not larger. The house comes with an unfinished 1000 sq. ft. basement that is a great storage option with easy access from the back mudroom. The house comes with a washer and dryer that are located in the basement. The house has hot water baseboard heat that is more comfortable and affordable than forced hot air and also has newer high efficiency therompane windows.
