The Zumper Dallas Metro Report analyzed active listings in December across 14 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The Texas state median rent was $921 last month.

Dallas, Texas rent fell 2.3% to $1,290 last month but continued to rank as the most expensive in the metro.

Richardson, Texas was second with one bedrooms priced at $1,200.

Irving, Texas followed closely behind as third with rent at $1,170.

Arlington, Texas prices, though growing 1.2% to $720, remained the most affordable in the metro.

Mesquite, Texas was second with rent at $760.

Grand Prairie, Texas ranked as third with one bedrooms priced at $820.

Garland, Texas‘s rental growth rate followed closely behind, climbing 15.1% since this time last year.

Denton, Texas prices jumped 13.7%, making it the third fastest growing.

Grand Prairie, Texas ranked as second with rent up 5.1%.

Irving, Texas had the third largest monthly rental growth rate, increasing 4.5%.
