I am honestly not sure where to begin when discussing my 3-year experience at Portage Pointe, except that we wouldn't want to live anywhere else until we find a house. It would be easy to say that we could choose a place with cheaper rent to save money, but we've seen those apartments and it really isn't worth living anywhere else. I will address as much as I can if you are thinking about choosing Portage Pointe. I am also choosing to write this review (a second review as opposed to my first review a few years ago....but my review stays the same). I will also mention that we have renewed our lease for another 2 years. The neighbors below us have also renewed their lease for 3 years and will be here a total of 6 years. Over half of the neighbors in my building have been here almost 5 years. HOME: Portage Pointe is our home. I say "our" because I speak for the countless neighbors that I have known throughout the years. This includes neighbors in other buildings. This is the type of place when I see the same faces in the morning, wave 'hello' and 'good-bye', and are able to see the same familiar faces when I come home. It is quiet, no parties, lots of kids playing and riding their bikes outside, lots of working families and dogs. We have lived in a 2-BR and then moved to a 3-BR and both apartments have been super cute with lots of light and great natural views! The complex is a nice size. It is big enough where I do see some new faces, but for the most part, it is small enough to feel like a little village! In my building, we host thanksgiving dinners, we are currently doing a little halloween thing where a neighbor drops candy or treats at your door, we cook for each other, share stories in the hallway....so many memories and such good neighbors. And diverse too! We have lots of ages and cultures living here and it is the most beautiful thing to share so much with so many people. Not to mention the leasing office hosts lots of events too! MAINTENANCE: We have had a few maintenance issues over the years, but EVERYTHING has gotten fixed that SAME DAY. I cannot remember a time when I didn't call the main office and didn't see Paul, Jarell, Evan, or Kevin walking up to my building, asking how everything has been, talking to me about their lives, and leaving within a half-hour after fixing whatever it was I needed fixed. And let me tell you that I can list on one hand the number of times I've had to call. Not to mention, if I am not home, I can count on each of them to enter my apartment and take care of everything. After years of steady maintenance staff, all of the residents are proud of our maintenance team. ***Fun story: I accidentally tossed my keys (which were wrapped around my wrist) into the dumpster with my trash...it was not the best morning. I had to drive to work for a meeting and was worried my keys would be buried by trash and I'd have to dumpster -dive later. But EVAN knew exactly what to do, and got the keys before my husband even got to it! Truly a hero! :) I could tell you a thousand times they have done, the smallest things that are not in their job description, but genuinely treat you like a neighbor and not just a resident. WATER: I've seen bad reviews about the water being turned off in the building, and I believe that is annual, and they do it during the work day. Unless you don't have a job, or simply like to shower on a Tuesday at 11am.... it shouldn't be a problem. I'm not sure why some hostile resident is exaggerating that.

The best apartment I've ever had! The office and maintenance staff were always kind and helpful throughout my 2 years living here. I'd highly recommend Portage Pointe to anyone looking for an apartment in the Streetsboro area!
