the place is okay, the lounge, gym, and study rooms are nice but there are small things that make the experience not worth coming back. First of all, the building is brand new, but my door wouldn’t shut and lock like advertised, and it’s taken maintenance more than a week to get here and fix it. Second of all, the advertised free wifi is not the same as the fast tenant wifi. In order to use the tenant wifi you have to buy your own router. So if you don’t want to spend the extra $100, you’re stuck with slow, public wifi that is 50/50 on working or not. Last, there are a lot of hidden fees that 1435 does not tell you about. They sign you up for a credit program and for their renters insurance (which makes sense but would’ve been a nice heads up) and in order to pay your rent on the app, there is a credit and debit card fee to PAY MY OWN RENT. So now I have to drive to the office every month and drop off a check. You’re able to get your own insurance and opt out of the credit program but there are still so many processing fees and dumb fees that don’t make sense it gets really infuriating once it starts adding up. Also, even if you are applying for a certain floor on your lease, they don't follow it and will put you on a random floor, so unless you’re on the fourth floor, be prepared to hear stomping a lot because all the walls, ceilings, everything is thin. The big boss of Pointe West, Devin Darnell, seems very disorganized every time I have come in contact with her and also posts about how much she hates her job on Facebook lol. That’s exactly what you want to see from your landlord. I mean it’s not the worst place to live, just be prepared it’s not as perfect and affordable as advertised.
