Originally built 1870, it must have been built for some important people. There are some breath-taking finishes like (three) arched marble fireplaces with one being in the primary bedroom. There are soaring ceilings, something you don’t see often in a house built in this period. An even the ceilings are so interesting with a combination of canvas and stamped metal ceilings. There are two bi-fold French doors that separate the formal dining room from the living room. If you ever wanted to host an impressive dinner party, this is the spot! Everywhere you look oozes with charm. A great example is a half bath on the first floor with a custom corner/triangle toilet tank. So cool! The house has so many great rooms including the second-floor sunroom. This is a cozy office space or reading nook that is surrounded by windows and a great view. There are also a larger office/library on the first floor and a neat sitting area off the side entrance. There are very desirable outdoor living spaces with both the front and back porch being oversized and specific for this unit. The back porch looks onto a green and lush yard. This is another spot that is spacious enough to have a table and lounges to enjoy this picturesque backyard. The kitchen has updated stainless-steel appliances including a gas stove. There is a walk-in pantry off the kitchen that feels like the storage could reach the sky. In this space there is a newer stackable washer and dryer that will be included with the rental. What is being rented out is the main house. This entire property is made up of the main house (two floors) and two small studio apartments. The area is absolutely loved by the community. The street has its own website, and it is a nationally designated historic area. It is one of the nicest streets in all of Hartford. You are a short walk to Elizabeth Park where you can enjoy free summer concert series, rose gardens, yoga, or even ice skating in the winter. Popular restaurants, specialty shopping like Tangiers (the best felafels), and hangouts are all only walking distance away. The West Hartford line is a mile away and West Hartford Center and Blue Back Square is less than a ten-minute drive. Tenant pays for electric and gas. Water, snow removal, landscaping, trash are landlord’s responsibility. As a bonus, there has been mini-splits installed to provide cooling and affordable heating.
