Where to begin! These are things I personally would like to know before choosing to live somewhere, so I hope this helps someone that is curious about this place. Cons: Cheaply built loft apartments with odd layouts, making it difficult to make these boxes into living spaces. Extremely thin walls, you can hear your neighbors on both sides, above you, below you, and outside. I’m talking about hearing CLEAR conversations. There’s a baby in the apartment next door, and I can hear the child crying all day long. Loud and clear. My upstairs neighbors must be indecisive interior designers because it sounds like they are dragging furniture all day every day. I recently celebrated my neighbors birthday, but they don’t know it. I joined in on the happy birthday song from my apartment. Not all apartments have washer/dryer. There is only one laundry room on site with two of each and one washer is constantly out of order. No elevators, just stairs. You will have to carry everything up/down stairs. There are no closets or any form of storage in the units. You have to figure that out. Who thought adding tiny white tile to the bathroom was a good idea?!?! Impossible to make it look good. The building is ran by the worst property management company I have ever dealt with. Urban Coast Properties; look them up and pay attention to the low reviews by real tenants. Unresponsive, unwilling to assist, careless. There is no way to reach them directly, there is never anyone on property. Not a single positive comment from any tenant that Ive met while living here. Inconsistencies all across. Devin, is one of the worst people I have ever had to deal with. This guy’s attitude is pure garbage. Buddy, if you hate your job so much why be in this industry? I have seen multiple complaints about him and Urban doesn’t seem to care at all. Miserable attitude; hate my job: couldn’t care less type of person. Maritza on the other hand has been easier to work with. Seems to be the only decent person to contact. Take a look at their website and what they advertised the building to be and then come take a tour and see for yourself. Constant major construction happening in the building’s first floor. Making it impossible to rest/work from home. Despite this being a new building, it is clear that there was no intention to provide comfortable living spaces for the community, but instead, just another project out of greediness. Forget about ordering your packages to be delivered here. Constantly getting stolen/disappearing. They installed parcel lockers to help with this but it keeps happening. Management doesn’t do anything about it when reported. You might only get lucky with Amazon deliveries since you can add specific instructions but forget about anything else getting to you safely. Update: November 2024, just had another package stolen and nothing done about it. Area surrounding the building is always dirty, trash, dog poop everywhere. Cars are always getting hit, damaged, even stolen. There are cockroaches on the streets/around the building. This building is new, but I am going to bet these apartments will have a bad problem in a few years. Pros: Flat electric bill, even though I am not sure this is the case for all the lofts. Fiver internet. And that’s all. None of the amenities they promised to get you in here were even true. We were told utilities were included in this building, which was wrong. They were also not charging water/gas at the beginning of us moving in here and then months in, they sent out emails with everyone’s past due balances that we owed FOR MONTHS of them not charging these bills. They all of a sudden informed everyone that they weren’t charging these utilities and now we owed months of water/gas. The restaurant/cafe that were supposed to be downstairs are still closed with no opening date. (Nothing still: Nov2024) This is all I can think of for now, will come back and edit if I think of more.

This place sucks. I lost my key on a Friday afternoon and called the emergency line to replace or pay for new keys and they said they couldn’t help me until the following MONDAY. I had to call a locksmith to open my apartment door. Since I needed to run errands that weekend I had to wait out side the gate and stairwell for another person who lived there to unlock all the doors just to get back into my apartment. I called and called to no avail begging for someone to please help and even left a note on the app for assistance and no one ever got back to me. Luckily I got the keys back on Monday from a coworker who realized they had them. I understand losing them was my fault but having to worry how to get back in was a nightmare. Also Devin is an A-hole. I’m so happy I terminated my lease and will NEVER be coming back here. Other Cons: -the trash area in the back is supposed to lock but I’ve found the homeless going through the garbage on several occasions -there are no closets or any sort of storage -in my apartment there was no oven. The microwave has the oven function but only blows hot air on one spot. -bathroom sink space is tinyy. I only had room for hand soap -my apartment only came with two spots on the hot plate stove -washer/dryer are on the second floor. If you’re on the 4th floor be prepared to carry all your laundry down/up two flights of stairs (my unit did not have washer or dryer) -parking on the days the Padres play is the worst. Pros: The sliding balcony window is awesome and the view of the coronado bridge was so pretty The apartment itself was really nice. The layout was unique and the high ceiling was a breath of fresh air.
