I lived at midway for about 15 months. We paid 1440 base rent + utilities/amenities for a 2x1. At the end of each month we were paying 1500 and up after all the fees were added. Do I think it’s worth it for a basic (non renovated unit) absolutely not especially now being in a luxury complex and I’m saving 200+ plus a month (in Alabama)but in our case we didn’t have much time to shop around and needed a place ASAP. The appliances were in my opinion great. We didn’t start to have issues with things until about one month before the lease was up. The faucet started dripping, the bolts to the dishwasher became loose and the washer started making a loud noise. But it lasted for a while. Rarely had to call maintenance, they always came and double checked their work. I never used the pool or dog parks or the gym. I found the gym to be positioned awkwardly so I worked out outside around the neighborhood. The neighbors were cool for the most part and it was quiet except for those loud modded cars (which I can noot stand lol) and occasional arguing. The leasing staff was always revolving. You could bet each time you walk into the office it’ll be a new face. Property manager: I had to come to her regarding: 1. being overcharged for a few things 2. Blinds 3. Removing charges/ late fees from our final bill. Ms.Julie Stine (property manager) She knows her job and is one who for the most part is cut and dry. I am one who will go the extra mile to read the fine print, cut and dry on my end to a fault sometimes. I had to read the entire lease because they went up on a charge in the middle of our occupancy and doing so I found that we had been overcharged on a few different transactions. Once I read everything I reached out immediately, but it’d take almost 5-7 days for me to get a response to one inquiry. Naturally I’m upset and the emails became almost passive aggressive, nonetheless the charges got removed and I came to terms with the additional charge in the middle of the lease. ✅ Normally apartments charge for damaged blinds. Our blinds were plastic & only damaged were the knob and the blinds met. I went in with my concerns showed proof and Mrs.Julie said we wouldn’t be charged. She kept her word. ✅ Lastly we forgot to give 60 days notice of move out. We knew we would have to pay,& we were still moving. We moved out August 28th and had to pay through October 9th. (Crazy right) and we had already signed a new lease. Julie informed us about attempting to get the unit leased so we wouldnt have to pay. The apartment didn’t get leased. I never made payments to the property, my brother always took care of it. since he got shipped off to boot camp I had to figure that out, I ended up figuring it out 24 hours before late fees occurred. So I reached out to Julie and asked for her to waive the fee since we had never been late. It took a while for the team to get back with me, 24hours to be exact and I noticed we had accrued more charges from 400 and change to 612 to 712 still with no response… at this point I am livid. I reach out via email and phone nothing for awhile. I am aggressively expressing the facts of the matter and how I feel and I finally receive a response of “the charges have been updated” :/ Despite my emotions and hers Julie still gets the charges removed some of which she didn’t have to, it was the late charge and 1 or 2 additional fees. I can’t say that I was right in the way I chose to address things and I can’t say that Ms.Julies attitude is always on point. But I can say that she handled business. And at the end of the day even if customer service may fail at times, the end result can over shadow that. My charges got removed and that was respectable given certain aspects of my stay.✅ I gave 5 stars b/c, from my experience when it comes to the analytical and backend aspects, expect things to be correct or at least fixed once you bring it to the teams attention. It may take awhile and you may get met with smug auroras (occasionally) but they do what they need to do, you can always go to them with any concerns.🫶🏾
