I would give zero stars if possible. While the actual unit is fine/clean, the building and management are beyond horrible. 1) the parking garage is ALWAYS broken, and traps your vehicle inside. Takes hours or even over night before you can access your car. 2) the main garage access is also broken majority of the time, which means they just leave it open. This is fine except it opens the whole building to anyone. There is no sense of safety or security. Anyone can come in and access the elevator or staircases without any sort of fob. 3) with full access to the building when the garage is left permanently open, homeless people will come into the garage, throw trash around, poop and pee in the staircases and who knows what else. 4) from June-Oct my car had been trapped so many times, I requested to break my lease as I need to have my car for work. They offered to reimburse for Ubers but my job literally requires my car. I actually was losing money living here. Considering the circumstance and reason for needing to break my lease (reasons being out of my control), I hoped they would work with me. They required 1 months lease break free PLUS I would be held responsible for rent until the unit was re-leased. Again, they are in full control of that unit re-leasing and don’t have any motive for urgency since they get paid either way. Personally, I can’t afford 2 rents at the same time until they re-lease the unit at their leisure. They also wouldn’t show the unit unless I vacated. Was essentially forced to stay until my lease ended *my first request to break my lease was in October. Nothing changed until my lease ended the following June. Garage trapped my car probably twice a week or I’d be looking for street parking when my $100/month spot wouldn’t open. 5) At move out, they kept half my deposit ($600) to completely repaint the unit. They claimed full paint charge is required and normal wear and tear is ineligible if you stay for 1 year or less. I hung things on the wall with THUMBTACKS and they claimed needing to patch holes and repaint. I even did the pre-move out inspection with management so I could ensure getting my deposit back. That manager (Precious) said the unit looked great and would only need minor paint touch ups. All my communication after move out has been with Phoebe who loves to ignore your questions and just refer you back to the lease (that says you’ll only be charged for anything outside normal wear and tear). Or you just won’t get a response at all. I’m convinced they are retaliating against me for all the issues I brought to their attention about the broken garage. *the lease also says the garage will remain closed unless in use but that never stopped them from leaving it open for months allowing homeless people to approach me inside. You will hemorrhage money here for an overpriced unit and no amenities.
