Turns out that finding and renting your first apartment and then moving aross the country, all during a pandemic is extremely challenging! Despite all that the management, especially Cassidy, helped us through the whole process. She answered all of our first time questions, sent videos of the apartment so we could see, and just generally made us feel very welcome. When we got there, the apartment was spacious, clean, and modern. After a year, my GF and I had made it into a little comfy home. Like I said before, everything is modern, especially throughout the kitchen. While everyone neighbor wise was nice, everyone prefered their own space, so if that’s an issue you won’t be bothered. The complex sits in the perfect spot in the SW corner of the city. It as a 10 minute drive to horsetooth, food stores, and downtown. While they weren’t operating during our stay, there is a bus stop across the street and biking everywhere is certainly a possibility. The gym is very well equipped and there is a nice patio area that Copperleaf has been updating with hammocks and cornhole boards. There’s some pretty great views from the apartments as well. We never really had to many issues either. When we did, our maintence requests were usually answered in a day or two. There were only three issues we did have and none of them are huge. When you get there make sure to check your bathtub drain. Ours hadn’t been cleaned out and was backing up for a bit until we figured it out. Secondly, the snow removal. This is coming from someone who was spoiled with having a highway maintence station just down the street at my old house, so no matter how much it snowed we were never in trouble. At Copperleaf, they do clear it out. The sideways are plowed and salted so they’re not the issue.I’m not sure if it’s a Colorado thing because the actual roads weren’t great either, but the company didn’t do the best job clearing the parking lot and ice built up like crazy to the point that my tires made divets and got stuck. It seemed to rely on community members helping each other most times when it came to just getting out, so make sure you have a shovel! Lastly, and this is something management was working on nonstop, some of the pet owners do a terrile job cleaning up after their pets. There is a dog run so you won’t have poop on the sidewalk, but if you’re in there it can be bad. While we were there, management sent out about 5 emails telling people to clean up. It did get better, but the issue was still there. I can’t really speak on price since this was a new state and we have never rented before. During our search it was one of the cheapest options. With the amenities included, the actual apartments, and the proximity to everything, it does feel like it was completely worth it. Honestly, we probably wouldn’t have moved out but student housing was cheaper (doesn’t have everything copperleaf has though). I know this is a long review, but it is an apartment complex so I feel it’s necessary. TL;DR: Copperleaf is a great apartment complex with beautiful apartments that’s in the perfect spot and isn’t overpriced. Totally worth it!
