Great location, large Units, and well maintained

All these 1 star reviews are crazy to me.
The property managers are super negligent, and sure the snow removal could be a bit better.
However, everyone who lives here is a nice respectable person that I feel safe around. I don’t think the walls are paper thin. I think the layout of the apartments is awesome.
Do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to live. The management here is incompetent. I was told that the carpets would be professionally cleaned before I moved in, but there was dog hair everywhere. I had a 2 bedroom apartment and never received 2 key fobs to enter the building. The hallways and common areas were almost always filthy. And to top things off it’s been a month since I’ve moved out and I still haven’t received my security deposit back. I’d highly recommend selecting any other option you may have when choosing an apartment.
WORST PLACE EVER DO NOT LIVE HERE
-
For context, I lived here for a year. When I moved in, there was no dryer. So for a week I had to drive to a laundromat to do my laundry even though the apartment was supposed to come with in-unit laundry. Secondly when I moved in, my bedroom window was completely broken and would leak cold/ hot air into the apartment. After asking management to fix my window for 6 months… yes 6 months.. they finally fixed it. Thirdly, for the majority of the time we lived there, there was an obnoxiously loud ringing that was almost always going on, and it was so loud you couldn’t even have a conversation in the apartment, with all the windows closed. It was blaring and hurt all of our ears. I could go on and on really, but I’ll just leave by saying that out of our $500 deposit.. we got $90 back. They charged us for a lot of “problems”, which is funny because all of those issues existed before we even moved into the apartment, and it was documented that we did not cause those issues, yet they still charged us for it. Also a little side note, it was nearly impossible to get in contact with the manager Natalie. She never answered calls or responded to texts. So least to say, it was one of the worst years of my life living in that overpriced trashcan.

I'm going to add to these poor reviews. I did like the apartment I thought that was nice, but Natalie is by far the worst manager. I have never seen/met her, she doesn't answer her phone, and takes days to answer a single text message. I didn't even see her for moveout. When it came to move out... they charged me $100 to fix the 14 nail holes in my walls. No where on the move out sheet did it say they would charge. They charged $120 for carpet cleaning (which is standard for charging), and pre-charged me $70 for a 2 hour cleaning fee -- when they didn't even clean yet. This is after I spent 5 hours cleaning myself. And I've never been charged on a previous apartment for cleaning before.
Once my initial lease was up, the rent went up twice within a 6-8 month period... and no warning on the first one. And one increase was $120 per month. They refused to put me in another lease before the second increase... then they wanted to after that, of course... knowing they were going to increase it. They said due to improved building repairs... there were never any repairs happening.
Overall, the apartments are nice, but management needs to go.

As a someone who has been through college and graduate school, apartments have been a constant in my life for the last 10 years. This was the 5th apartment I have ever rented and it is my least favorite of them all. I will attempt to describe my experience here so you can make an informed decision on signing a lease here. I rely heavily on reviews from current/previous tenants before making a decision on leasing, so hopefully this helps someone. I have also attached pictures that depict the general state of the property: icy, full of dog feces, and dirty carpets.
1. Affordable for the area, however my rent had increased $200 in just 2 years and no improvements were made.
2. Parking problems-nowhere for guests to park if they arrive after 5pm. Very few people use their garage.
3. Air conditioner sucks, management won’t replace. If you don’t like a stuffy hot apartment in the summer, DO NOT rent here. Go somewhere with central A/C.
4. Building and my unit is constantly hot, no idea why. I have never needed to turn my heat on in this place. It is HOT, I’m talking at least 74 in there constantly. Notice how hot the halls are when you tour, and imagine that year round.
5. The building smells rotten. Not sure if someone stinky recently moved in, someone likes to always cook smelly food like broccoli and eggs, or if someone’s dog is peeing/pooping in the halls again.
6. Dirty. When I first moved in I used to see cleaners once a week. When I left, it was maybe once a month.
7. Noisy at times. Some young dudes with noisy cars (souped up Subarus) have moved in within the last year and I was being woken up by their loud vehicles almost daily. They sit in the garage and rev their engines for about 10-15 minutes before going. So if you like to go to bed before 11 and sleep in past 7, think again. The street the apartment is on is very busy and loud with cars revving up and down it. The inside is relatively quiet minus door slamming and loud footsteps above. There are never loud parties or anything.
8. Outdoor mailboxes are outside and the walk out there can be incredibly icy and treacherous in the winter. It has to snow a lot for management to have snow removal come. No one salts the lot.
9. The units facing the parking lot have the garage lights shining directly in the windows all night. I could read in my room at night.
10. Management is the worst I’ve seen. No clue how Natalie is still employed, but she’s rude, lazy, passive aggressive, and doesn’t answer the phone or emails. In many other jobs, you would be terminated immediately for this kind of behavior. She may initially answer in case it’s a potential renter that she can suck in to a contract, but as soon as she realizes it’s a current tenant just needing a question answered or a previous tenant looking for records, she refuses to coordinate any further. I had never seen her in real life until I moved out. It can be very stressful trying to coordinate a move across country, and this lazy bum just adds to it. Buchholz should really find a new property manager. Worst I’ve ever seen and incredibly unprofessional.
11. They deducted $90 from my deposit for carpet cleaning that they could not provide an invoice for. I received my entire deposit back otherwise. At this point, I can only assume they used the $90 to offset the cost of new carpet, which was needed BEFORE I even moved in. If they actually cleaned the carpets, providing a copy of an invoice should be no problem. I have sent my address and reminders to Natalie several times, and in usual Natalie fashion, I was ignored.
12. One of the 5 star reviews is from the owner himself. I have reported it to Google for “conflict of interest” but it hasn’t been removed yet.
Overall, my recommendation is to find somewhere else to live and save yourself the headache. The apartments do look decent in pictures, but I promise it’s just not worth it. Woodbridge in South Bismarck is a sister property, so don’t go there either. You get what you pay for. This place is a dump.

After 2 years I would not recommend. The claims to be the apt manager but complains about eveything you try to throw away. But other can dump couches no problem huh? Trash all over the complex. Snow removal sucks, it's almost like they pay the bare minimum for that and then plow all the garages in. We moved into an apt that wasent even cleaned what so ever. And then Natalie that is full of herself tbh! Excepts you to move out of the apt befor your lease ends so they can have the carpets cleaned? Like it dident mater when I moved in if they were clean or not but I have to get out early for the next person? What a compleate joke that is. Who is reimbursing me for the last few days I payed for but apparently have to get out early for cleaning? I feel that is illegal to do. Overall they are some really cheap and falling apart units for being pretty new. Also there is dog poop all over even on the walkways into the building someday or cat liter spilled down the stairs for months at a time without being cleaned. Live in a box you would be better off!
