About the apartment/room: The room is big, 12x15 ft with a nice sized closet space. Directly outside the bedroom is storage for your use as well as your own private bathroom. The bathroom has sliding doors, a full tub and plenty of cabinet space. The kitchen is good sized and has a dishwasher. The living area has a lot of space with a pull out couch in case you have friends in town who need a place to stay. The apartment is furnished aside from the bedroom but if you have pieces you're attached to thats completely cool with me I'm not above getting rid of things. There is a nice sized balcony that gets good afternoon light for growing plants. Laundry is in the building. There is one parking space, which we can definitely come to an agreement on and permit parking just out front. Less than a block down the street however is open parking so you're friends will never have a problem. The Neighborhood: It is awesome. You can walk everywhere, in fact my last roommate didn't even have a car and I haven't touched mine in a week, I bike wherever I can. There are tons of shops and restaurants on Montana, its a stones throw to Fathers Office and a grocery store. The Santa Monica stairs aren't far away and the Promenade is just far enough away. Also parking is a breeze, never thought that could happen in LA. Best part 9 blocks to the beach and beach volleyball courts and far enough from the pier there aren't too many people. About me: I am a 31 year old woman. I've lived here over two years with my 12 year old, well behaved fat cat. Unfortunately the landlord won't allow any more pets :( I am employed as well as a full time student, I work or go to class M-F nights. I occasionally have friends over but tend to do most of my socializing outside the apartment. That said friends are always welcome. I am quite clean and like to have the living areas be kept clean as well. About you: 20s-30s, male or female (no couples). My best roommates have been guys but I have roomed with some pretty cool girls as well. You're a non-smoker (It is a smoke free building). You're clean, especially in the common areas, and do your dishes in a timely manner. Financially you're employed with good credit (the landlord will check). You pay your rent and bills on time. Noise wise you keep it fairly quiet, this isn't a party area, there are children in the building so this is especially important at night. If you have a boyfriend/girlfriend great as long as they're not spending more than a couple of nights here a week. The $$ : As of September 1st rent is 1045.00 a month. It is rent control. Utilities (gas, electric and internet) range from $40-$55 a month depending on the time of year. I don't need heat so if you're not turning it on then the gas utility should drop quite a bit. For move in you'll need first, last and a $1000 security deposit (if its too much in one lump sum it can be spread out over a couple of months). Rent must be paid in bank check, thanks to my old roommate bouncing several personal checks, by the first of the month. You can pay me for bills either cash, check, bank transfer or google wallet. The landlord will do a $30 credit check and attach you to the lease. A year commitment with a minimum 30 days notice to vacate.
