I have waited nearly 6 months before writing my review as I wanted to make sure I was as accurate as possible and had the proper time to actually experience my apartment and the community. First, I want to start by saying that the Nicole, Dean, and the rest of the staff are all extremely professional and kind. They have always been transparent with residents and quick to respond if there are any issues that arise. The only time I have had issues was with a neighbor being messy in the shared hallways, but it was promptly cleaned up and dealt with. This was a one time thing and most people will not have to deal with this as it is 100% random on who your neighbors are and what they may do. Either way, it was quickly dealt with and I have had zero issues since. Second, the apartment quality is on par with other new apartment complexes that are produced at this scale. Visually the inside and outside of the apartments are stunning and very modern. Other reviews state that the walls are thin and the appliances are loud, both of which I would say is an over-exaggeration. The A/C unit is louder than I would prefer and you can hear conversations directly outside your door, but both are tolerable and on par with most apartment living situations. The community is very well taken care of. The trails, lawns, and shared areas are always well maintained and clean. Is it honestly one of the nicest apartment complexes I have ever been to and it is comforting knowing that our community spaces are well cared for and not an afterthought. I would highly recommend living at Elmwood Lake Apartments. It is very rare in my experience to have such caring members of the staff and maintenance crew. They are all professional and very kind. The apartments themselves are beautiful and the layout is perfect for me. All of my neighbors have been quiet and respectful for the most part and everyone in the community that I have run into seem friendly and respectful of each other. The cost is slightly higher than I would like, but you get what you pay for in my opinion and it is worth every penny!

They peddle "luxury apartments" here, but they manage to be worse built than all but one of the apartments I've lived in. Don't get me wrong, the view is wonderful, the amenities they do have are nice, and the neighbors are pleasant. My gripes are with the management and the general build quality of the apartments. The first talking point is just the sheer build quality. There are more crooked light switches and outlets than not, and the windows are drafty in the hottest and coldest months, which causes your HVAC unit to run for 2/3 of the day. And that's not an exaggeration. And that bad boy is noisy, like a box fan at max speed. You will have to raise your voice to talk over it. That brings me to my next point of contention. How thin the walls are. I can hear my neighbors phone buzz, and I can follow normal-level conversations almost word-for-word. If you luck out and get a neighbor who has a small dog with a burning passion for barking, it becomes maddening if you value peace and quiet. I have a white noise machine going or music playing anytime I am home. The final large frustration for me is that the door is slightly undersized for the doorway. This caused the latch to just barely catch the striker. If the door is not dead bolted and your windows are open, that bad boy will inadvertently blow open like I'm on the set of Seinfeld. That will be a nice segway into my next talking point. The management. I want to preface this with: the maintenance technicians that I have interacted with have been nothing short of professional. I have no complaints with them. I have had two major issues since I moved in last summer. The day I moved in, the AC did not work. And it remained that way for almost a week. It took three phone calls to finally get someone out. This was in the dead of July, but I was willing to roll with the punches. They had just started renting, and this place was freshly built. Im sure the office staff was swamped. My last point of frustration is the lock system. They have a keyless "fob" system for the deadbolt to your apartment. Sounds cool and convenient, right? If you need a failsafe, there isn't one. If the batteries die, you cannot enter your apartment. I came home from vacation and was entirely locked out. The tech was prompt for after-hours service. I had access to my apartment within an hour. Four days after the batteries were changed, they signaled a low battery. The batteries were replaced again, and the issue seemed to be resolved. This trend continued four more times, all less than a week apart. At the time of writing this review, this had been a recurring problem for almost a month. I cannot lock my apartment for fear of being locked out again. This is not a leaky faucet, this is a major safety concern. I won't say it has all been bad here; the view is incredible to wake up to. But I can't see the value in paying for this place, if I'm being honest. There is no gym, no dog park, and shoddy material quality on all fronts. Its not a bad place to live by any means; it just has a poor value in my eyes.
