Beautiful character home in a great neighborhood. The house is on a quiet side street just off of Bank so it is close to all types of conveniences, shopping, services, parks and pubs yet quiet and away from the main bustle of it all. The Number 5 goes right by the place so its an easy commute downtown and Carleton University can be reached by foot in fifteen minutes. The place was built between 1922-1925, the kitchen and bath have been updated about two years ago but the house has maintained its charm with redone hardwood floors throughout, original trim and nice high ceilings. There are three bedrooms on the second floor, a bathroom and a small office space with a balcony off of it, on the main level is the eat-in kitchen and living spaces and in the basement is the laundry. The whole place is a great space and there's also a patio in the back yard for outdoor entertaining and relaxation. The two room mates who are already settled in the house are both young professionals, one being an elementary school teacher and the other working in green construction. Both are easy to get along with and good for sharing a few laughs with. Everyone in the house gets along well but we all have the respect to give one another space at home. It is a LGBTQ friendly space and we try our best to be environmentally responsible as well. If you yourself are a young professional or finishing up your post secondary education this would be an ideal living situation, if you're easy to get along with but still want to have your own space you'll find a good balance of social and private time here. Rent is 625$ plus utilities, the furnace and hot water tank are gas so there isn't going to be ridiculous electricity bills trying to heat the place in the winter. We have signed the lease for the year so it will be up at the beginning of next August so it would be great to find someone who intends on staying for this duration to be a part of the lease with us. Give me a ring (Ross) and we can arrange to meet up and get a tour of the house.
