I am a PhD student at UBC and have a two-bedroom apartment. My housemate Freddy (who is also a UBC graduate student, and a good friend) is moving out, therefore one room will become vacant as of December 1, 2025. Your rent will be $1300 per month (negotiable) and you will have access to your bedroom and all the common areas of the apartment. Desired personal characteristics are kind, social, responsible, clean, and inclusive. Our philosophy is that housemates should make friends with each other, and not act like strangers. So far, that has worked out well and the vibe in the house is great! Location is near 3rd Ave and Alma Street, in Kitsilano, a few minutes walk from the beach No Frills, Banyen Bookstore, Breka Cafe, Blendz Coffee, Fresh Slice Pizza, Killer Ice Cream, various international restaurants (Spanish, French, Japanese, etc.) and the bus stop (4, 7, 44, 84). The bus to UBC takes 10 minutes, and 15 minutes to downtown. The neighbourhood is convenient, verdant, flowery, with beautiful homes and parks. The most amazing aspect is that it is a 5-minute walk to Jericho Beach, where you can play sports, jog, swim, and hang out with your friends. Apartment has shared living room, kitchen, bathroom, laundry room, and pleasant patio for outdoor seating. You are welcome to use all these areas. Apartment is furnished, so the less stuff you have, the better. There is also space for parking cars, motorcycles, and bicycles. The apartment is the ground floor of a pleasant historic house. As an old home, it has quirky features (like unusual geometry and moderately low ceilings in some parts), but it is charming, comfortable, and colourful!
