Welcome to 36 Lemay Street, West Hartford. This quintessential 1936 colonial is the best example of “prime” West Hartford Center living. A showstopper! of a rental that is almost never seen on the rental market. We will start with the kitchen because it’s likely in the top 50 kitchens in all of town! It is ideally placed in the back of the house and looks out onto the most picture-perfect backyard. The highlight (among many highlights) is an almost ten-foot island that makes the most grand and “central” spot to be at in the house. An instant magnet for people, conversations or doing homework. The 42” commercial grade gas range is one of the high-end stainless-steel appliances in this kitchen. The island hides a microwave that pops open with a button. There is a second prepping/ wet bar sink, and a beverage refrigerator nearby that is all built into the “buffet wall” of the kitchen. This kitchen has endless cabinet storage, tasteful glass doors, and a tumbled marble backsplash. Everything is lit up with ten recessed lights, two large island pendant lights, and under cabinet lighting. But, back to the view from your kitchen sink, and it’s like looking at a backyard from the movies. A perfectly level yard where you could easily imagine everything happening -- having a catch; dog running around, BBQ party, relaxing by the firepit, kids playing. The access is easy from the kitchen or dining room right onto a stunning bluestone patio. The backyard is the perfect size, balancing space with upkeep, and is almost entirely fenced in giving you that added privacy and “arena” like feel. Our second favorite room in the house is the oversized dining room that looks out onto the backyard through glass sliders and this room gets drenched in natural light. It’s the brightest room in the house and another terrific way of showing off this incredible backyard. There is a convenient office space on the first floor that is tucked away behind the living room and fireplace. The exposed brick is one example of the tons of character that you will find in this 1936 colonial. The house has three finished living spaces and an unfinished basement. The unfinished basement makes a great spot for storage and is where the laundry is located. The second floor has four bedrooms, a full bath in the hallway, and an ensuite full bathroom in the primary bedroom. Hardwood floors run throughout the house including impressive fur floors on the third floor that have coveted red and brown color. The third floor has a large bedroom and half bath. The perfect guest space away from it all or a dream teenager’s personal floor. All of this located two miles from West Hartford Center in a quiet, walkable, and sought-after neighborhood. Highly rated public schools are only a short drive away. West Hartford center is known for the place you want to be. It’s extremely popular with some of the most active night life in the area. There are terrific happy hours, four-star restaurants, shopping, movies, and endless ice cream parlors. Please keep in mind that a minimum of 675 credit score is required for all adult occupants. There is thorough background check with an employment and income verification. Only one month security deposit with a strong application. Pets considered on a case by case basis.
