About 1145 N Park St 2
January 1'st. $500 + 1/2 utilities. Looking for a chill roommate to share a 2-bedroom ground-floor suite, preferably a full time student or young employed professional. The suite is located near Cook Street and North Park Street on the west side of the Fernwood neighborhood. Room comes with a large table (4'7" X 2'7.5"), office chair, and queen-sized mattress. Share suite with 33 year old male professional, former UVic engineering student. My name is Dylan, my personality is more youthful than my age, so I would probably get along best with a younger room mate. I don't really have a preference male or female as long as we get along. My current roommate is a male UVic computer science student visiting from Germany. I enjoy camping, music festivals, and inventing/building things. I work full time Monday to Friday, but my schedule is somewhat flexible, so sometimes I work 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM. There are 5 suites in the building, all of which have their own external entrances. I share a wall and my ceiling with some elderly residents and I had to sign a form saying that there is no drugs or smoking allowed on the property, so the place is not a party house, but it is set up nicely to have tamer get-togethers. I personally like my camping parties and camping music festivals, over parties in the city anyways. Anyone moving in has to be approved by the landlord and sign the same form I signed, but I'll let you go month to month, while I'm signed into a lease that is a year long before going month to month. The other 2 suites appear to be couples in their late 20's. The kitchen is stocked with an oven with grill top burners, a toaster, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, blender, food processor, juicer, and slow cooker. The suite has a sliding glass door that leads to a small concrete porch and shared back yard. I have a 5 foot diameter round dining room table with 8 chairs around it and a couple couches and a coffee table. I also have a BBQ. I also have some weights and a bench-press. There is in-suite-laundry in the bathroom and there is also shared coin-operated laundry in the building with its own separate keyed entry. The building has a yard and a small garden shared between the suites. A maintenance guy mows the lawn. The room for rent is10'10" X 8'11". Its closet is 5'6" X 3'1", but the closet is under a set of stairs with a ceiling sloping from a height of 7'6" down to 3'2". The room plus closet adds to 113 square feet. The ceilings are 8' high, except for a couple 6" thick ducts and a 1'0" thick beam across the living room. The main entrance is 2'6" wide and there is a 3'6" to 3'0" hallway corner, so some furniture may not fit through, but the suite pretty much has its fill of furniture already. The sliding glass door's opening is 1'11 1/2" wide X 6'4" high. The entire suite is about 875 square feet. I also rented the garage on the property. Sometimes I like to build things and the garage is one of the reasons I chose this place. I've partially camperized my mini van and I built a portable camping hot tub. If you like to work on projects, maybe we could work out a deal with the garage. It can't be a full time thing that would get noise complaints from the neighbors though. The lease I signed said no pets, but I think someone else in the building has a cat, so maybe you could get special permission for a pet, but I don't want to clean up after them or smell the litter box, so I would lean against having pets.
