Safe Harbor village is is a historic and unique community that originated as housing for the Safe Harbor Dam. It included over 40 homes, a post office, and a mess hall plus more. During WW2, the government renovated some of the apartments to fit soldiers. The soldiers duties were to help with security of the dam as it was suspected of being a target by Hitler.
