This wing features 2 bedrooms, each with its own bathroom/shower and TV (Amazon fire stick: Netflix, Hulu, HBO/Showtime, Amazon Prime, local channels). The left and right wings of the house offer private entrances. The upstairs primary bedroom provides a small hideaway shower/tub, and hideaway bathroom. Adjacent to the suite is a loft with skylight, serving as a sitting room, as well as an office, equipped with comfortable desk, Canon and HP printers, paper shredder and all office accoutrements. The kitchen is stocked with all necessary cookware plus Nespresso coffee maker; Omega juicer for fresh juice; Vitamix for smoothies and pures, microwave, and toaster. The extras: fishing poles (upon request); outdoor shower; barbecue; romantic outdoor dining table with white lights surrounded by greens and hydrangea; East Hampton Town seasonal beach pass; convenient Village location near Main Street amenities and beaches; pets welcome; 4 bikes; badminton; high powered telescope for evening stargazing and fire pit for roasting marshmallows. The History: This home was built in the 1960s by the current owner's father. It was built it with cedarwood repurposed from a Southampton barn built in the 1800s. As the story goes, the current owner's father was friendly with John Steinbeck and he and John each took the wide plank wood from the barn, which was to be torn down - John using it for his writing studio in Sag Harbor. This house is rich in history and character, as are the interior features, turn of the century French and American antiques and collectables.
