Why I owe you money 5. The apartment number or location of apartment in this building. I really liked the apartment but the owners/ management was ruthless back then. Probably new owners now.

If I could give a 0 star review, I would. I would not recommend this place to anyone no matter the cost. I wouldn't even be paid to live here, or work with their management again. The list of negative experiences that I had with Hawks Landing cannot fit in a single review. I will cover a few of them just to further my point of STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. The place was not cleaned when we first moved in. I could tell that the carpets were done, but nothing else had been cleaned or wiped down. The amount of spiders that were in the unit was absurd. We cleaned it ourselves, and sprayed the inside and outside of the unit for spiders before we started moving anything in because it was so bad. We also left the place spotless and cleaned every inch of the unit to get our cleaning deposit back since they told us we could get it back if the unit was clean enough. Plus since it wasn't clean when we got there it would make sense that we get it back anyways. We didn't get it back, and they fought to not return it to us instead of making things right. While we were moving in, 2 of our vehicles were booted in the parking lot for $70 a boot. Hawks Landing were so hard to work with and contact to figure out what was going on. They booted us because we didn't have parking stickers on our vehicles. We didn't even have parking stickers at that point since we were just moving in our things. Also, one of the vehicles that was booted was there strictly for moving and was not ever going to have a sticker. Hawks Landing didn't have answers for us and wouldn't give us extra parking stickers for the moving vehicle. I had to work with the booting company for 2 hours while trying to move into the apartment. Even our maintenance man that Hawks Landing sent us got booted one time while fixing our furnace. We requested to move out on a Saturday. They told me I couldn't and that I would have to move on Friday since nobody would be in the office to collect the keys on a Saturday. Of the people helping move 6 of us had to take the day off work so we could get out on a Friday like they requested. After getting everything moved out I went to the office to turn in the keys and nobody was there... I called them and they said I will have to turn in the keys the following Monday. So there was zero reason for us to have to take work off and move out on that Friday. I then went back the following Monday to return the keys and do the walk through. Nobody showed up to collect the keys or do a walk through. There are more issues with this place ranging from people smoking outside your windows, garbage being left in the halls for months, appliances being left outside in the halls, rent price changes, spider webs in every corner of every room and closet, and the list goes on but I will leave it at that. Don't rent at this place.

DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!! THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY!!! Absolutely the worst I have ever dealt with. All the reviews about them doing all they can to not give you your money back are true. They originally gave us a statement of the deposit we would get back, and the check they sent was $500 less than what they said. They tried to come up with lots of excuses of why they needed that $500. When I read the parts in the lease that counted their arguments, they told me, well that's too bad. They simply refused to give back what they owed us. It would cost more $500 just to have an appointment with a lawyer to sue, and I think they know that and know they can get away with it. They are legitimate criminals and you should avoid them as such. The management team was extremely uncommunicative and uncooperative. We had multiple complaints that never got taken care of. Multiple fixes we need and they never fixed them. Multiple things they said they would do before we moved and they did not do them. There were holes in wall, dog hair all over the carpets, doors off their hinges and lightbulbs on the ground when we moved in. These all became excuses to keep our money. When I said I had pictures and sent them, they said too bad. They also would not give us proof of what cleaning they claimed they had to do because they were lying about having to do it. I have pictures of the way we left it, and they would not show me pictures of why they needed "cleaning" that they said had been done. I'm telling you now so you know what you are getting into. On top of that, the place smells heavily of weed. It is the grossest, nastiest place to live. We were in need because of school and all other housing options were filled. We clearly stayed longer than we should have, but I do not think it would have mattered. The fact that they violated the lease and didn't give money back or a list of what they used that money for is a crime and they should be held accountable. THE APARTMENT WAS NOT CLEANED WHEN WE MOVED IN!!!! The apartment was extremely dirty when we moved in. The previous renters had not cleaned and the management company did not inspect it either. There was an entire layer of dog hair on the carpet that took three dumps from a vacuum to clean up. Bottom line is, PLEASE DO NOT LIVE HEAR NO MATTER HOW DESPERATE YOU ARE!!!! Go pay a little bit more somewhere else if you have, and make sure you will get your security deposit back!!!
