Briar Arms is the worst place I’ve ever lived. Do not waste your money and safety by living here. I hated every single day I had to live here and let me tell you why. You can hear everything your neighbors on all sides are doing at all times. And I mean EVERYTHING. The walls and ceilings are extremely thin. The laundry machines are always broken. We went to the laundromat the entire time we lived here because that’s how often they were broken. People were often yelling and screaming outside and getting in the dumpsters. It’s super loud. Cops would frequently show up at night. I lived on the first floor and people would smoke cigarettes right into my window. People would also look through the windows often and I had things yelled at me and people try to talk to me through the windows. I’ve never been so scared living anywhere. The management was so terrible for the first year we lived here. Last summer we didn’t have ac for 2 months. I worked from home and have a cat. It was so hot I was getting heat stroke and I had to put wet washcloths on my cat to keep him from overheating. They wouldn’t fix it for 2 whole months in the summer and didn’t give us a temporary ac until a few days before they finally installed it, after we begged for one. Briar Arms apartments are extremely small. The bathroom and bedroom are basically in the kitchen and living room. The bathroom never dries fully, as the toilet and sink are basically in the shower. We had to get rid of towels and bath mats because they just never dried out completely. There is no storage whatsoever in the apartment. You just get the one bedroom closet and that’s it. There’s no bathroom storage and not enough room to put some sort of storage in there. The renovations they did are so bad that a lot of things broke; blinds, mirror, paint chipping off the wall always etc. They told us we were allowed to hang things on the walls but most of the walls are solid concrete and don’t allow you to put up any decorations. The doors to the bathroom and bedroom got stuck shut all the time which is really dangerous in an emergency situation. There used to be no keypad on the door to the building and people would leave it open often, causing really scary people to just be hanging around in the common areas. It’s been better since they installed it but there are still people outside constantly. Do not waste your time with this place. The rent ends up being much higher than advertised and there’s a reason there was no deposit to move in. Spend your money on a more safe, comfortable place. I am so happy to finally have moved.
