About The Penn Warren

The Penn Warren is the only historic apartment property of its kind in Clarksville, TN. Live among 65 unique loft-style apartments in the converted Clarksville High School. In addition to its charm, history, and grand space, we are conveniently located near downtown restaurants and Austin Peay State University. Enjoy condo-grade amenities including a fitness center, a community room with billiards, cable HDTV, facilities for events, swimming pool, tennis court, outdoor gas grills, a secluded courtyard, and complimentary wifi in the common areas. The Penn Warren was originally built in 1906 as Clarksville High School, which closed and moved in 1976. The property was then redeveloped into Greenwood Place Apartments in 1982 by partners and graduates, Jerry Clark and John Roe. In 2010, the building was acquired by two real estate entrepreneurs who invested in extensive updates and renamed it The Penn Warren, after its most notable graduate, Robert Penn Warren.
