Affordable Housing for Seniors where the Head of Households must be 55 or Older. Utilities are included. We offer 54 apartments in our historic, recently renovated building. Our facility is a Low Income Housing Tax Credit property in which half of the units are at 50% of the area median income and half are at 60% of the area median income. The rental rate is not based on your income, only your eligibility to live here is based on your income. However, we do give preference to participants of the Housing Choice Voucher through the local Public Housing Authority. Square footage ranges from 410-737, (833 SF-2 bedroom unit) To qualify for these units your gross annual income (including income from assets) must be at or below $22,600 for 50% units or $27,120 for 60% units for one person. There are two elevators in the building. There are no washer/dryer hookup but there is a laundry room on the terrace level accessible by an elevator. The units do not have steps inside the units, with the exception of a couple units that have two steps. There are steps at the front entrance to the building but there is a ramp without steps at the north side of the building and there is an east entrance that is level ground. The main dining hall is leased out to the public for catered events such as weddings, receptions, reunions, birthday parties, auctions, company dinners, retirement dinners, baby showers, bridal showers, etc. If you have any questions, or if you would like to take a tour of Fairfax Hall in person, please call the office 540-946-9234 or cell phone 540-471-0720.
