Great experience with the Avery Glen team! Awesome customer service when going through the leasing process with Yadima, very responsive and made the move in seamless. My unit is very nicely renovated and the maintenance team is always nearby. No complaints!
This place is great for the value, location, and management team!
I know there are newer options in the area, but this one is a gem! Not only have I lived here multiple times, but I’ve had friends live here, and they have loved their experience as well.
Pros:
- great and quiet community
- close to downtown Decatur, and easy walk
- gated community
- small pool
- spacious apartments with great layouts
Cons:
- appliances and lighting it dated
- hard to grill out (they have a small grill)
If you are looking for a great place to stay, close to Decatur, at a great value, then this is your place. The community is nice and welcoming and staff will take care of you when needed!
And they usually have a waitlist so if you are interested; let them know asap
I love my new apartment here at Avery Glen. I have a new renovated apartment and just love the space. I walk to Downtown Decatur and that is the biggest plus! It is also so quiet and the staff is fast to respond with any questions I have.

Today I received a lovely Rosemary plant from the girls in the office. Dwanda and J.J. are always so friendly and responsive to my every request. I have been a resident for almost 10 years and have loved every year of it. Jim and Jerome always take care of any problem on the same day, but I have very few maintenance problems. The apartments are very well maintained.
These apartments were built in the 60s but have been recently renovated and are very nice-- all new appliances and paint indoors. The back half is dorms for Agnes Scott and the students are very quiet and respectful. We have had a few issues with our apt since moving in, but the staff is very helpful and responds quickly. There is a small community pool with a grill and the community is gated. The best part is the access to downtown and beautiful Decatur neighborhoods for a decent price. There is so much to do within a 10-20 minute walk!

My son had an apartment at Avery Glen because he was a student at Georgia State and it was convenient for him. Since we were not from the area, we didn't know which apartments were good or bad. A friend of my son's told him to check out Avery Glen which he did. I would highly recommend the apartments to anyone. I never worried about my son the entire time he stayed there. The staff was awesome: professional, friendly, and informative. I would like to thank them for everything.

This review is based solely on my experience as an applicant; which has been wonderful thus far. Initially spoke with Dwanda and presented quite a few questions to which she seemed more than happy to answer...I was so excited that I set up a tour immediately. When I arrived at the office I met JJ - she was super friendly and explained the application process after taking me on a tour of the model. My initial thoughts of the complex: clean, quiet, cozy, and lots of green (which I love). Also, the community is in a fantastic location, especially for the price. All in all, I am really looking forward to becoming a resident!

I've lived at Avery Glen for about 7 months and can't say enough great things about the place. The staff are incredibly friendly, helpful, and quick to respond. The maintenance manager has a pleasant, accommodating attitude, despite being super busy (and despite me being rather particular about certain things). The neighbors I've met are friendly and we all agree that the apartments are quiet. We don't even hear the people right next door unless they're coming and going.
The location is perfect. I'm a short walk from Decatur Square without living on top of it and having to deal with the noise and parking problems. Several neighborhoods in Atlanta (Kirkwood, Candler Park, Inman Park) are just a few miles away. It can be tough getting to the freeway during commute hours, but that's true for most of Decatur. The nearest MARTA station is about a 12 minute walk.
Bottom line, I toured 3 buildings near Decatur Square and I definitely think I chose the best one!
