Our first apartment, we loved it! Quiet, never had any issues with our neighbors. Maintenance crew gets the job done. There`s a lot parking available, they own the little medical building next to the apts. You can park on the side or the front/back of the lot. I had to move because of my job...it`s too far away :( Deena is the best!

I signed a month to month agreement to only be tricked into a lease by Deena Fotion. I had my x boyfriend submit a 30 day notice which was emailed to her address with my email cc’d. She left on vacation the week I was to be out, she did not mention a back up protocol on who to hand my keys to. The maintenance man mentioned he collected the keys anyways and so it should be fine that he collected them until Deena returned from vacation. She took it so personal and said that I cannot just hand keys to a maintenance man because I did not feel like living there anymore. I made it clear that I submitted a 30 day notice with the other lease holder. She said because he decided to stay, that I needed to be written off the lease. That he had submitted the notice and she did not get one from me, although the letter clearly states “we are, us, moving out.” I have lived in many apartments before and have never heard of such a thing—especially with a month to month agreement only for an actually lease agreement. I asked for my keys back after learning I was still financially liable for the apartment (late notice emailed to me) and she refused to give back my keys and argued with me to write myself off. I demanded my keys and she said she had already given them to the tenant who is now living in the apartment. I was upset that my name was legally bound to this apartment and someone else is living in it and obtained my keys from Deena. She is extremely unprofessional, the hours listed should be “when I feel available,” and untrustworthy. I have now signed a document to release me from a 1 year lease I was unaware of. I never received a copy of the lease to reference back to, I didn’t think it would be a big deal because she seemed honest. I hope this time I do not receive another financial bill. Deena Fotion is committing fraud to keep her apartments looking rented on paper. She also runs a property management company for houses in fallbrook. I would think twice before doing business with her. There is a reason you see her cruising around in her red rubicon rather than helping her tenants. As of for the apartment she warned us of the roof leaking in the winter time to just use buckets. Any washer and dryer issues (accidental leaks etc) will fall on the tenant. The appliances are extremely old, the windows are frail. Packages get stolen and loud music plays all weekends. There isn’t any management on property so she relies on neighbors telling on each other or texting her. There is definitely cheaper for this style slum in Fallbrook or a tiny bit more for better. I still have not received confirmation that I am removed from the lease.
