Hi! I'm looking for someone to take over my roommate's room starting on September 4th. I live at Rhode Island Row in Northeast DC, adjacent to the Rhode Island Avenue Metro Station on the red line. The apartment is on the third floor, includes a washer and dryer in the unit, as well as a dishwasher and two bathrooms. The room available is adjacent to the second bathroom. Rent is $682 per month and since we split utilities (which include water, sewage, electricity, gas, and cable/internet) in half, they typically run to be no more than $75 a month. In the winter, the gas can be slightly more expensive. The move-in date will be September 4th, and no sooner unfortunately. A little bit about me: I'm a 23 years old and work full-time on Capitol Hill, do a little bit of writing on the side, and am from Northern California. I did a year of service with AmeriCorps before starting on the Hill. I'm not an obsessive neat freak, but I do like my living space to be generally hygienic. I'm looking for a roommate who is going to be respectful, attentive to cleanliness, responsible with all bills, and friendly and easy going. I'm not able to have pets live in the apartment with us. The apartment is income restricted. In order to qualify to apply, your income must be no higher than $30,000 annually (BEFORE TAXES). The apartment management company will also do a criminal history and credit check before you are approved to move in. If you are unsure of your credit, please check your credit score/report and be sure that you have a good credit history before reaching out to me. If so, I will have you fill out the application (which includes a $50 application fee) to submit to the management office. I am going to be out of the country in July and August, so I'd like to get this process going and hopefully completed by the time I leave.
